History

The Red Lion Area Senior Center, Inc. (RLASC) opened its doors in March of 1974, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Red Lion.  The center was one of the first senior centers in York County.  In 1982, the RLASC moved into the Red Lion Multi-Purpose Center at 20-C Gotham Place.

The senior center is a private non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors.  In 2002 the Red Lion Area Multi-Purpose Board sold the building to the Senior Center and to Red Lion Area Community Services.  The center purchased the entire building from Red Lion Area Community Services in 2008.

In July 2016 the center changed its name to the Golden Connections Community Center.  The name change was made to encourage membership from all areas of York County.  The center has experienced high volumes of growth across all of its programs and services and is currently looking to purchase some land to build a larger facility.
